Your journey to becoming a Wits student

New to Wits? Here's what the process looks like from application to registration.

STEP 1: Explore Wits' academic programmes and apply

Choose your academic programme: all applicants to Wits, no matter where they come from, are required to meet certain academic requirements for their study programme.

International students must meet additional requirements, such as English proficiency and the assessment of their qualifications.

Check English proficiency

How to apply?

Follow the steps on the 足球竞彩app排名 Enrolment Centre website to submit your application: Undergraduate or Postgraduate

Get qualification assessed:

Undergraduate: Matriculation Exemption
Postgraduate: SAQA evaluation for foreign qualifications

Apply for accommodation:?If you need on-campus housing

STEP 2: Get accepted for your studies and get your paperwork in order

Receive your letter of acceptance

Accept your offer on 足球竞彩app排名 Self Service Portal

Apply for South African Medical Aid (valid until 31 December)
 
Apply for your Study Visa 

Apply at the closest South African High Commission, Consulate or Mission. Note: The University is not permitted to register you until you have produced your VALID Study Visa.

STEP 3: Arrive and register at Wits

Complete pre-registration at ISO with:

Get international clearance to register

NB You CANNOT register without International Clearance from ISO.

Register at your faculty for the academic year
in person or online via 足球竞彩app排名 Self Service
Collect your Kudu Card: Your official student ID

Step 4: You are now a Witsie!

Undergrads, attend Gateway to Success orientation. All students join the International 足球竞彩app排名s Sub-Council (ISSC) for events and community, and access campus support services including health, counselling, sport and more.
